 What's up Alex, it's Pete Spray. Me and Havikk of South Central Cartel recently pressed up his first solo project "The Rhime Son". I GET MY ROLL ON (RE-RECORDED) Havikk first appeared on the South Central Cartel debut album South Central Madness in early 92 before releasing a succession of albums together with his group throughout the remainder of the decade. After their follow-up, 94's N Gatz We Truss, generated a sizable amount of attention in the gangsta rap underground, Def Jam Records signed the group, eventually resulting in their most realized album, 97's All Day Everyday. The group stand alongside fellow early-'90s west coast collectives such as CMW, NWA and Above the Law, as gangsta rap pioneers. Now Havikk is currently pushing his first solo project called The Rhime Son, which is being released in conjunction with Pete Spray. While other members of South Central Cartel have released solo projects in the past, this is actually Havikk's first time taking the solo route. The Rhime Son features a string of new cuts from Havikk, along with a couple of classics, such as the infamous Knock On Wood (Remix). Features include 40 Glocc (G-Unit), 2Pac, Rated R (Thug Life), CMW, LV (from Coolio's hit Gangsta's Paradise), Spice 1, Kyle Rifkin (from America's Got Talent show), and many more. |
